places. We feature local and regional
historians, authors, and experts in various
fields.
These events are usually free and all are
open to the general public.

Lunch & Learn
Lecture Series
Third Wednesday of each month from Noon
to 1:00 pm. Lectures take place at The
Resource Center, located at 1 N. Gilmer
Street, directly behind the Bartow History
Center. Parking is located next to the
building.
August 20,
Harper Harris-
Harris, lead interpreter for the Southern
Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History,
Kennesaw Ga., will discuss "the Great
Locomotive Chase."
September 17, Joe Singletary-
Singletary,
local historian, will discuss and display
uniforms and weaponry of World War II.
Thursday
Evening Lecture Series
Last Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm.
Lectures take place at The Resource Center,
located at 1 N. Gilmer Street, directly
behind the Bartow History Center.

August 28,
Dr. David Parker- Parker, a history professor at Kennesaw State University, will
discuss the Confederate textbooks written
during the Civil War.
September 25, Ken Powell- Powell, a WWII veteran and former POW in Germany, will speak about
his experiences in the war and discuss the
book Four Stars in the Window. The
book tells the dramatic true story of four
brothers in one family during WWII who
survived an Iwo Jima battle, Omaha Beach on
D-Day, a German POW camp, and Army Air Corps
training. His wife, Kathleen, will entertain
you as she portrays "Rosie the Riveter."
